Prof.Dr. Suvad Dedić, a longtime head of the Clinic for Pulmonary Diseases, university Clinical Center Tuzla passed away yesterday on 28 March, 2021 at the age of 61.
Prof. Dr. Suvad Dedić was born on 12 September 11960 in Banovići where he finished elementary and secondary school. He graduated form the Medical faculty, University of Tuzla in 1985. Upon graduation he worked as a medical doctor in health center Banovići. In the period 1992-1995 he was the commandeer of the War Hospital and the chief of the Sanitary Service of the 119th Banovići Mountain Brigade.
In 1994 he became an employee of the University Clinical Center Tuzla. Post- graduated studies he finished at the Medical faculty, University of Tuzla, where he defended the master thesis in 2008 on the theme ” Risk factors in the development of the lung cancer”, and the doctoral thesis in 2011 on the theme” Influence of acute exacerbations of COPD on the health status of patients”. He held the position of an Assistant Professor on the subject Internal Medicine at the Medical faculty, University of Tuzla. In 2019 he was promoted to the title Associate Professor. Prof. Dr. Dedić was a longtime member of the European Respiratory Society and the president of the Society of Respiratory Medicine in BiH. He published numerous scientific works in indexed medical journals, and won numerous awards and recognitions.
A final farewell to Prof. Dr. Suvad Dedić will take place today 29 March, 2021.
