The UKC Tuzla experienced team of cardiologists have implemented cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) , a treatment option for chronic heart failure (CHF). For the first time in the UKC Tuzla, the team of cardiologists, Ass. Dr. Mugdim Bajrić and Ass. Dr. Elmir Jahić supervised by Dr. Richard Matasić from Clinical Hospital „Rebro“ Zagreb, have successfully implanted CRT device. The application of CRT device is suitable for heart failure patients with NYHA classes II- III, ejection fraction less than 35% ,and a left bundle branch block morphology. Also, it is suitable in the management of patients’ CHF in cases when drug treatment didn’t help. CRT device in patients with chronic heart failure significantly reduces mortality as well as the period of hospital staying.
