World Stroke Day 2016

World Stroke Day is observed on October 29 to underscore the serious nature and high rates of stroke, raise awareness of the prevention and treatment of the condition. The annual event was started in 2006 by the World Stroke Organization (WSO) to facilitate events that emphasizing education, testing and initiatives to improve damaging effects of stroke worldwide.
The Association of Students of the Faculty of Medicine traditionally has joined with the Clinic of Neurology, University Clinical Center Tuzla in marking World Stroke Day 2016. The team made up of medical students and doctors from the Clinic of Neurology will organize workshops, and a central event in the form of public forum. As in previous years, all citizens are invited to attend public events. Medical faculty, University of Tuzla will host a workshop for students from different university faculties on the same topic. This year’s goal is to highlight the importance of prevention, healthy lifestyle, early recognition of stroke and treatment.

The press conference on the occasion of World Stroke Day 2016 will be held at the Clinic of Neurology, on Thursday, 27 October 2016 in 11:00 a.m.
This project activities will also include a public forum to be held in the amphitheater of medical faculty, on Friday 28, starting at 2:00 p.m. Two eminent experts in neurological disorders Prof. Dr Osman Sinanović and Prof. Dr. Dževdet Smajlović will also attend this medical event to contribute to a productive discussions.
