On Friday, 20 January, 2017, in support of European Cervical Cancer Prevention Week, the participants of the campaign were holding a white and golden color balloons in their hands while forming the shape of the Pearl of Wisdom. The Pearl of Wisdom is the official symbol of the Cervical Cancer Prevention Week,which takes place every year from 24 to 30 January.
The final event of the European Cervical Cancer Prevention Week was held on Saturday, 21 January in the Bingo City Center Tuzla. Women who attended the event had the opportunity to learn how they can be more responsible for their health, to be informed on the possibilities and importance of cervical cancer prevention, risk factors and prevention strategies, and to hear inspiring stories from women who have fought this dangerous disease.
Within the campaign, the students of Medical faculty, University of Tuzla held a mini concert for all visitors.
Prof. Dr. Fahrija Skokić, medical director of the University Clinical Center Tuzla said that the task of our hospital is not only to heal but to work on the prevention of a disease.” A lot can be done for the cause of disease prevention, and we continue to work on it every day. The University Clinical Center Tuzla, Clinic of Gynecology and Obstetrics is following a recent trend in medicine and spending a great deal of effort in helping our patients. We invest a lot in teamwork, especially when it comes to prevention of this disease” said Prof. Dr. Skokić
Prof. Dr. Dženita Ljuca, head of the Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics said that the Saturday event highlighted the theme “the beauty of a woman”. ” The patients who went through the ordeal with the disease and know the importance of maintaining good health and prevention were today with us.
