The Clinic for Neurosurgery, University Clinical Center Tuzla as the leading neurosurgery facility in Bosnia and Herzegovina still continues to produce successful working results. The neurosurgery team strives to apply state-of-the -art medical care for patients along with scientific promotion and education of healthcare professionals and students in the field of neurosurgery.
Thanks to the dedicated scientific and professional approach of the attending neurosurgical staff at the Clinic, an increasing number of patients outside of the Tuzla Canton are becoming more interested in the treatment options offered at the Clinic. The number of healthcare services provided to the patients from other cantons in the Federation BiH, Republika Srpska and Brčko District is growing every year, with a tendency for further growth.

At the same time, our neurosurgeons have established professional collaborations in healthcare with a widely recognized hospitals and clinics in the world such as the Clinic of Neurosurgery, University of Buffalo New York, Universities of Toulouse, Tours, Strasbourg in France and Universities of Ulm and Deggendorf in Germany. In addition to mentioned collaboration, a team of our neurosurgeons are regularly gaining and extending their work experience in other neurosurgical centers. They actively participate in domestic and international scientific gatherings and have extensive experience in teaching and research.
The Clinic for Neurosurgery in Tuzla is a teaching base for Medical faculty, University of Tuzla, and the place where the generations of medical students have one of the most demanding residency training in neurosurgery.
Pediatric neurosurgery program includes surgical procedures in children with hydrocephalus, developmental abnormalities and neural tube closures. Spinal neurosurgery includes surgical treatment of pathological processes in the spinal canal and disorders of the structure and function of the spine. A stereotactic brain surgery is a surgical procedure that involves the use of advanced imaging techniques to reach the deep structure of the brain. It is the procedure that is for the first time in Bosnia and Herzegovina done in Tuzla. The peripheral nerve surgery services encompasses surgical treatment of compressive neuropathy and peripheral nerve injuries. Neurosurgery of the head trauma includes surgical care of craniocerebral injuries with continuous intracranial monitoring.Contemporary microsurgical concept is applied in neurosurgical treatment in a manner that is scientifically verified and proved to be the most appropriate. Owing to a comprehensive approach to the evaluation and management of patients with surgically treatable neurological diseases this Clinic became well known even outside the borders of BiH.
