On the occasion of World Kidney Day and at the initiative of the International Society of Nephrology (ISN) 8 March 2018 is dedicated to women- organ donors. At the initiative of the Society of Transplanted and Dialyzed Patients of the Tuzla Canton in cooperation with the same Federal Society , Donor Network in B&H, the University Clinical Center Tuzla, the Society of Nephrology, Dialysis and Kidney Transplants in B&H, World Kidney Day will be observed in Tuzla on 10th March, 2018.
The sponsors of this event are the Government of the Tuzla Canton and RTV TK.
The celebration of the day is organized as a two- parts event. The first part will be a tree planting and inscription stone placing ceremony in the park of Clinical Center Tuzla in the period 11:30- 12:30 hours. Director of Clinical Center Tuzla, head of the Clinic for Internal Medicine and the representatives of organ donors and recipients will address the media and attendees.
The second part of event will be dedicated to organ donors and recipients and it will include short awareness lectures on the importance of organ and tissue transplantation led by the renowned experts.
There are 2684 patients registered in the dialysis program in Bosnia and Herzegovina, out of which 1100 patients are in RS, 1500 patients are in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and 90 patients are in Brčko District.
