Press conference- ” The First Symposium of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry of B&H with international participation”

The Society of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Clinic for Psychiatry, University Clinical Center Tuzla and the Psychiatric Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina are organizing the First symposium of child and adolescent psychiatry of B&H with international participation to be held on 6 and 7 July, 2018. The Clinic for Psychiatry hosted a press conference on the occasion of event to present the program of symposium entitled ” Neglecting and other problems of children and youth in modern society: the psychic consequences”, as well as to announce workshop aimed for school psychologists, pedagogues and educators in a preschool and school centers.

The sponsors of the symposium are the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the European Society for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Head of the Clinic for Psychiatry and the president of the symposium organizing committee Prof. Dr. Izet Pajević said that the aim of organizers was to gather experts in neuropsychiatry who deal with child and adolescent psychiatry to discuss the most current issues for both childhood and youth in modern society. ” Given the high sensitivity and vulnerability of children and youth and the increased need for psychiatric care, for many years medical professionals of the Clinic for Psychiatry have been undertaking different activities and efforts to improve the quality of mental health service delivery.”

During the press conference Ass Prof. Nermina Kravić, chief of the Department for child and adolescent psychiatry presented lecturers and a workshop program that will be held on 6 July 2018 on the theme “Early identification of psychic problems in children and youth.”

Prof. Dr. Mevludin Hasanović, chief of Department for social psychiatry also addressed the press and emphasized the importance of holding this symposium as gathering of experts in the field of child and adolescent mental health that will be an excellent opportunity to exchange opinions and most current information in this, inadequately affirmed medical field.

Prof. Hasanović also said that there is a great interest of professional community for this medical event and many participants are signing up to attend.
