Shortly after implementation of energy efficiency measures on the building of surgical disciplines Gradina , the University Clinical Center Tuzla had started with the preparation of the same project documents for the Clinic for Children’s Diseases.
The project of improving the energy efficiency of the University Clinical Center Tuzla have been implemented with the financial support of the Government of the Tuzla Canton, the Ministry of Spatial Planning and Environmental Protection, and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). The working process of replacement of a total 200 worn out openings with new openings at the Clinic for Children’s Diseases has already started. The energy saving performance and more comfortable staying of inpatients and health workers in the building will be improved by installing special thermal insulation profiles.
Moreover, from the beginning of the year, the Clinic for Children Diseases engaged new professional staff and made a large investments in medical equipment. The Intensive Care Unit got three most modern pediatric ventilation machines and seven incubators. On 13 September, 2018, the University Clinical Center Tuzla has received a very generous donation of medical equipment provided in the framework of Japanese Non- Project Grant Aid. The medical items consist of an incubator, infant warmer, two infusion pumps and three aspirators.
The Society “Heart for children suffering from cancer in the Federation of BiH” made a donation of medical equipment for the Department of Hematology and Oncology and provided generous funds for reconstruction works in the outpatient clinic for hematology and oncology. During this year, the third out of four project phases of reconstruction works in the outpatients clinics and the daily hospital of the Clinic for Pulmonology and Cardiology is also finished.
The project “For a prettier smile of children” in the value of 100 000 KM run the University Clinical Center Tuzla together with the Foundation Junuzović and Radio Kameleon. The plans for the forthcoming period are the installation of the new facade for better building insulation as well as following the campaign “For a prettier smile of children”to collect much needed funds for construction works in other departments.
