On 19 March, 2019, a team of invasive cardiologists at the University Clinical Center Tuzla has performed the coronary angiography in the 25 000th patient.
The coronary angiography is an invasive diagnostic procedure for detecting blocked coronary arteries. The expert team of the Clinic for Invasive Cardiology provides 24/7 on- call medical service to treat the most complicated cardiology conditions during the whole year. The chief of the Department for electrostimulation and electrophysiology of the heart, Ass. Prof. Mugdim Bajrić MD, on the occasion said that health professionals at the Clinic of Invasive Cardiology annually provide more than 2100 diagnostic and therapeutic procedures related to the treatment of coronary arteries, peripheral blood vessels, and heart rhythm disorders.

“An increase in the incidence of cardiovascular system disorders consequently increased the number of performed procedures, but still there is an increase in the number of patients on the waiting lists. However, we have recently opened new angio/cath lab, and got an opportunity to treat elective and urgent cases at the same time.” said Dr. Bajrić.
