A press conference on the occasion of 60 years of physical rehabilitation in Tuzla, was held at the University Clinical Center Tuzla. The press conference gave the opportunity to officially present an overview and brief history of the first department for medical rehabilitation in Tuzla, but also to talk about the results and accomplishments of the Clinic for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
In speaking to the press, Prim. Dr. Emir Halilbegović, head of the Clinic for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation presented the historical timeline of the department development. He said that the department with 2000m2 of space annually admits about 900 patients with an average of 20 hospital days, and treats about 300 patients who are hospitalized at other departments and clinics.
Ass. Prof. Azra Delalić, chief of the Department for Pediatric Physical Rehabilitation also spoke with members of the press and said that special attention has been paid to the rehabilitation of children with neurological risk symptoms and the importance of early rehabilitation in pediatric patients.
The press conference also attended head nurse of the Clinic for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Vesna Keranović, graduate nurse and Mirela Begić graduate physical therapist who spoke about the importance of continuing education for health professionals in healthcare performance.
