Education of resident doctors in Infectology

As the teaching hospital and following recommendations for the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, the University Clinical Center have taken all precautionary measures and actions to ensure timely and adequate education and training related to pandemic for its  resident doctors and nurses/ technicians.

The Sector for Scientific Research and Education in cooperation with the Clinic for Infectious Diseases and the Sector for Hygienic and Epidemiological Surveillance, with the support of ANUBiH,  organized and hosted education in the field of Infectology with a special focus on SARS -CoV-2 infection, as it is a part of residency curriculum intended for resident doctors of different clinical disciplines.

According to the director of the University Clinical Center Tuzla Prof.dr. Vahid Jusufović, in this training program eminent experts who deal with infectious diseases will present their experience gained during the current pandemic. He also added that the management team of the University Clinical Center Tuzla is implementing all effective organizational measures to be ready if another epidemic wave hit again.

Medical director Prof. dr. Šekib Umihanić added that the education is planned in the form of ten thematic lectures, practical training and final exam for participants. “This form of continuing education will be conducted in the conditions of a relatively favorable epidemiological situation in our community. The training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation for over a hundred active participants, young nurses and doctors, has already been completed these days. In the following days, in addition to education from Infectology, we have planned special lecturing in the field of surgical treatment of patients who are suspected or confirmed for COVD-19 infection for health professionals from surgical disciplines” said Prof.dr.
