Clinical Center Tuzla sends medical team to support Novi Pazar’s fight against COVID-19

This morning the University Clinical Center Tuzla sent a team of six health care professionals to Novi Pazar to support its colleagues’ fight against COVID-19. The team consisting of three doctors and three graduated technicians led by Prof.Dr. Zijah Rifatbegović, head of the Clinic for Surgery has planned to stay in Novi Pazar for fourteen days, the estimated incubation period of COVID-19.

On the occasion Prof. Dr. Vahid Jusufović, director of the University Clinical Center Tuzla said that our team is consisted of health care professionals and providers with different specialties who have extensive work experience. “Dr Samir Pištoljević from Respiratory Center is well- experienced in ventilator management of patients, Dr. Edin Jašarević has many years of experience in Internal Medicine, while the leader of the team Prof. Dr. Zijah Rifatbegović has many years of experience as abdominal and general surgeon, but also owns experience in the clinical management of patients with COVID-19.

Medical technicians Amir Borić, Boris Perkić and Jasmin Trumić are graduated and well- trained technicians for work in intensive care unions.” he said an added that if necessary the University Clinical Center is ready to send the second health team to Novi Pazar.

The Minister of Health of the Tuzla Canton Dajana Čolić also saw medical team of doctors and technicians off to their noble mission.

Before departure to mission Prof. Dr. Zijah Rifatbegović said that our team is carrying with them a certain amount of the personal protective equipment and medical supplies. ” We carry out everything that is needed for surgery in the COVID-19 infection conditions, so I believe that regarding the hospital’s capacities in Novi Pazar and together with colleagues from Novi Pazar and Sarajevo we can make one good team and provide the best care for patients.
