The first Bosnian and Herzegovinian textbook on Surgery entitled “Hirurgija/kirurgija” written by the best professors of surgery from five medical faculties and top experts in the specialty from Sarajevo, Tuzla, Banja Luka, Mostar and Foča was presented as a gift to the director of the University Clinical Center Tuzla.
Prof. Dr. Samir Delibegović and Prof. Dr Fuad Pašić gave the gift to our director Prof. Dr. Vahid Jusufović.
On that occasion the director thanked for the gift and said that he feels proud for health professionals from the University Clinical Center Tuzla managed to gather university professors to work together, to harmonize the criteria and to write a book documenting recent advances and new developments in the field of surgery.
This textbook is the result of the joint authorship of 16 authors and 11 co- authors. It is written for medical students, but also for surgical residents.
The textbook of 1.246 pages and 22 chapters has attracted positive reviews and comments from Prof. Dr. Božina Radević, Serbia, Prof. Dr. Aleš Tomažić, Slovenia and Prof. Dr. Miroslav Bekavac Bešlin, Croatia as well as from the oldest living professor of surgery in Bosnia and Herzegovina Prof. Dr. Ekrem Dizdarević.
