A course on ultrasound diagnostics of the neck organs was held, organized by the Public Health Institution University Clinical Center Tuzla and the Medical Chamber of the Tuzla Canton. The course leader was prim. Assistant Prof. Dr. Belkisa Izić, a specialist in nuclear medicine, and the lecturers are specialists in the field of nuclear medicine with many years of experience in the field of ultrasonography.
The theoretical part of the course, as well as practical exercises, were held at the Clinic for Radiology and Nuclear Medicine, at the Department of Nuclear Medicine.
“The importance of this course is reflected in the fact that until its launch, such examinations could only be performed at the tertiary level of health care, and today, thanks to the transferred knowledge and trained staff, ultrasound examinations of the anterior neck region can be performed at other levels of health care, which represents a significant contribution to both health workers and patients,” emphasized Dr. Izić added that plans for the future include not only the continuation of this course, but also the expansion of education through the organization of new courses, including those dedicated to ablative methods of treating benign changes on the thyroid gland.
After the final test, the course participants were presented with certificates.
