The First School of Adult Clinical Electroencephalography is being held at the University Clinical Center Tuzla (UKC Tuzla) from May 23 to August 23, 2025, as part of the Center’s commitment to continuous medical education.
On behalf of the institution, Prof. Dr. Ervin Alibegović, Assistant Director for Teaching and Scientific Research at UKC Tuzla, welcomed all participants.
“UKC Tuzla is recognized as a regional leader not only in the provision of healthcare services but also in the field of medical education,” stated Prof. Alibegović. “In this regard, I would like to especially highlight the Clinic of Neurology, which plays a pivotal role in organizing this EEG School. The Clinic is also the driving force behind other key educational programs, including EMNG courses, Neurological Days, the School of Peripheral Nerve Ultrasound, and its active participation in the School of Neck Ultrasound.”
The First School of Adult Clinical Electroencephalography is jointly organized by the University Clinical Center Tuzla and the Medical Chamber of the Tuzla Canton, further strengthening the partnership between these two institutions in the field of medical education.
Prof. Dr. Renata Hodžić, Vice President of the Medical Chamber of the Tuzla Canton, emphasized the importance of this collaboration.
“The University Clinical Center Tuzla and the Medical Chamber of the Tuzla Canton have long maintained an excellent working relationship in the area of education. The launch of the School of Adult Clinical Electroencephalography is yet another testament to this cooperation,” said Prof. Dr. Hodžić. “This is the first time that such a school is being organized at UKC Tuzla, and I am pleased to dedicate my time to sharing my extensive experience in the field of electroencephalography.”
Over the course of three months, participants will gain both theoretical knowledge and hands-on training essential for routine clinical practice in adult electroencephalography. The practical component will be conducted at the Clinic of Neurology, University Clinical Center Tuzla.
The School is led by two esteemed experts Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sci. Larisa Kovačević, specialist in neuropsychiatry and Head of the Department of General Neurology at the Clinic of Neurology, UKC Tuzla, and Prim. Dr. Lejla Zonić, M.Sc. in Medical Sciences.
