Following a series of working meetings between representatives of the Turkish medical group Medical Park and the Director of the University Clinical Center Tuzla (UKC Tuzla), Prof. Dr. Šekib Umihanić, the implementation of the Agreement on Professional Cooperation and Medical Staff Education has officially commenced.
The activities defined by the Agreement aim to strengthen the professional competencies of physicians, promote the exchange of knowledge and experience, and facilitate the introduction of modern medical procedures into the clinical practice of UKC Tuzla. Within the framework of the agreed cooperation, professional training was conducted in Turkey at the Medical Park Group in Istanbul. The training was attended by Dr. Hajrudin Kozarević, a physician from the Clinic for Radiology and Nuclear Medicine of UKC Tuzla.
During his stay, Dr. Kozarević completed advanced training in the field of interventional radiology, with a particular focus on endovascular treatment of peripheral vascular diseases and embolization of expansive lesions, thereby contributing to the further development of interventional radiology services at UKC Tuzla.
Dr. Kozarević emphasized on this occasion that the professional training enabled him to acquire new knowledge and valuable practical experience in the field of interventional radiology. He noted that the newly acquired competencies will contribute to the improvement of existing procedures, as well as to the gradual introduction of new interventional radiology methods at UKC Tuzla, in line with the institution’s technical and organizational capacities.
The Director of the UKC Tuzla, Prof. Dr. Šekib Umihanić, highlighted that continuous education of medical staff and the development of international cooperation represent one of the key strategic priorities of the institution.
“Systematic investment in the professional development of our physicians is of exceptional importance for the long-term development of UKC Tuzla. Cooperation with the Medical Park Group, as well as with other European and global healthcare institutions, provides access to modern medical knowledge, advanced technologies, and international experience. This cooperation is directly reflected in the continuous improvement of the quality of healthcare services provided to our patients. The planned training activities envisaged by the Cooperation Agreement will further strengthen the professional capacities of our institution,” stated Director Umihanić.
