A team of surgenos from the University Clinical Center Tuzla together with colleagues from the Zenica Cantonal Hospital removed the organs from the donor from Zenica. A multidisciplinary transplant team performed transplantation surgeries of one kidney and cornea at the University Clinical Center Tuzla.
Today’s cadaver transplantations demonstrate that transplant program performance in the University Clinical Center Tuzla is progressing toward continuity and sustainability.
The director of the University Clinical Center Tuzla Prof.Dr. Denijal Tulumović on this occasion commended the prompt responses of the entire transplant teams from Tuzla and Zenica, a large number of non- medical personnel, as well as the humanity of the donor’s family, who contributed that two transplant surgeries were successfully performed.
Prof. Tulumović also said the transplant and early post transplant courses went well.
In addition to surgical health professionals the multidisciplinary includes the expert teams from the Polyclinic for Transfusion, the Polyclinic for Laboratory Diagnostics and the Hospital Pharmacy.
The Tuzla Canton Ministry of Internal Affairs members secured and escorted the explanted organs and contributed to their faster transport to the Clinical Center.
