A team of surgeons from the Clinic for Plastic and Maxillofacial Surgery, University Clinical Center Tuzla successfully performed a microsurgical breast reconstruction using tissue from other parts of the patient’s body after mastectomy yesterday.
This surgery was done only two weeks after Slovenian expert surgeon Dr. Peter Zorman conducted education and training for breast surgery using body tissue at Clinical Center Tuzla.
“Owing to plastic surgeon Dr. Peter Zorman and his selfless transfer of knowledge and clinical skills, our team today performed surgery with satisfactory results” said Dr. Emir Halilbašić, head of the Clinic for Plastic and Maxillofacial Surgery, University Clinical Center Tuzla.
On that occasion Dr. Eldar Brkić, specialist in plastic and reconstructive surgery explained that the mentioned surgery requires a high- skilled and coordinated surgical team, who can respond to the needs and demands for technically complicated surgery, as well as possible early revision surgery.
