In March 2023, the University Clinical Center Tuzla submitted a request to the University of Tuzla for the title/status of university hospital. This was based on Article 19 of the Rulebook on conditions that hospitals must meet for the title of university hospital.
Acting on the aforementioned request, the Public Institution University of Tuzla, in June 2023, issued a Decision granting the Public Health Institution University Clinical Center Tuzla the title/ status of university hospital with a validity period of five years.
According to the Rulebook on the conditions that hospitals must meet in order to be granted the title of university hospital in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, that status can be granted only to health institutions that carry out health care services at the tertiary care level, as well as to teaching hospitals affiliated with a medical faculty that have achieved scientific research and professional results in the country and abroad.
