STREET NAMED AFTER PROF. DR. IBRO PAŠIĆ

In the presence of family members, Tuzla City Council Members, employees of the University Clinical Center Tuzla and citizens, the UKC Tuzla director Ass. Prof. Nešad Hotić and the Mayor of Tuzla Jasmin Imamović revealed a street sign that honoring posthumously Prof. Dr. Ibro Pašić. The street located at an intersection with Džindić mahala street, leading to the north next to the UKC Tuzla and continues to the exit near to Clinic for Children’s Diseases is named after Prof. Dr. Ibro Pašić.

Prof. Dr. Ibro Pašić was one of the founders of modern health care system in Tuzla and Bosnia and Herzegovina. He was a men of great vision and working energy out of a number of values emerged that this city is proud of today. As a skilled internist Prof Pašić published 141 professional and scientific papers, three books in medicine and two monographs. He was the first Head of Clinic for Internal Medicine and initiator for establishment of Medical faculty in Tuzla. Prof. Pašić was the first Dean of Medical faculty in Tuzla (1976-1982). From 1985 to 1988 he was Rector of the University of Tuzla. Prof. Dr. Ibro Pašić was a man who had extraordinary and peculiar qualities which made him unique. With his devoted work Prof. Pašić embedded himself in the time and place in which he lived.

On the ocassion of 40th anniversary of Medical faculty in Tuzla and naming of one of the street in Tuzla after Prof. Dr. Ibro Pašić, Medical faculty, University of Tuzla organized a roundtable session “Prof. Dr. Ibro Pašić- a visionary and builder of health care and higher education” on Friday, 5 February, 2016.
