A ceremony- the completion of the Clinic for Internal Medicine energy efficiency project

On Friday, the University Clinical Center Tuzla held a ceremony and reception for investors, contractors and the project’s supervisory board to celebrate the completion of the Clinic for Internal Medicine energy efficiency project.

The director of University Clinical Center Tuzla Prof. Dr. Šekib Umihanić on this occasion thanked all present dignitaries who contributed to the implementation of the mentioned project.

In the welcome speech, the director said the goal of the University Clinical Center Tuzla is to improve both the working conditions for health professionals as well as the stay of the patients in future.

“A number of work activities are underway in parallel on several sides in the University Clinical Center Tuzla to improve working conditions of the health staff, and the comfort of patients”

Today we are attending a solemn moment marking the completion of the energy efficiency project at the Clinic for Internal Diseases, which was implemented in within the framework of the World Bank project “Energy Efficiency in Bosnia and Herzegovina”.

The Federal Ministry of Spatial Planning through the Project Implementation Unit for the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina was responsible for the implementation of this project, and I would like to thank our partners once again for their assistance in achieving this successful project, of which we are very proud” said director Umihanić.

The ceremony was also attended by the adviser to the Federal Minister of Spatial Planning, Goran Lulić, who expressed his gratitude to the management and employees of Clinical Center Tuzla for their. “This is one of a series of projects that the Federal Ministry is carrying out in terms of energy efficiency, more precisely this project is one of the largest individual projects that has been increased with significant funds from the World Bank. It is a grant that shows the commitment of the FBiH Government to invest in the quality of health care in the area of the Tuzla Canton. The renovation was carried out according to all European standards and I would like to thank the authorities for the supervision and execution of the works for the exceptional work and the speed of realization of this project”, said Lulić.

In addition to the President of the Tuzla Canton Assembly, the Tuzla Canton Prime Minister attended the ceremony along with relevant ministers for health, spatial planning and the environment.

“Over the past 18 months, the Government of Tuzla Canton has provided a total of 20 million KM for Clinical Center Tuzla projects. The procedures were initiated for establishing a department for child and adolescent psychiatry, adapting the Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics and the Clinic for Ear, Throat and Nose Diseases and Head and Neck Surgery, as well as acquiring a large number of medical equipment. Adding salary increases and improving health professional’s financial status should be added to that list.We are happy that such a vision of development was recognized by the Federal Ministry and decided to help us on the way to return the University Clinical Center to its rightful place, which is a leader in the providing secondary and tertiary medical services in Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as elsewhere. In this sense, we place great importance on the satisfaction of our patients and the quality of their stay in the University Clinical Center Tuzla,” said Prime Minister of Tuzla Canton Irfan Halilagić.
