As part of the academy marking the 50th anniversary of the anesthesiology service in Tuzla, a professional conference titled “Tuzla Days of Anesthesia” will be held. This significant event will feature invited lectures by renowned experts from the Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota, USA.
On this occasion, the visiting American anesthesiologists were formally received today by Prof. Dr. Igor Hudić, Assistant Director for Medical Affairs at UKC Tuzla. Prof. Hudić expressed his sincere appreciation to the esteemed colleagues from the United States for their visit and interest in collaboration. He emphasized that this meeting represents an excellent opportunity for joint education, as well as the exchange of professional knowledge and clinical experience, further strengthening international cooperation in the field of anesthesiology.
During the meeting, Prof. Dr. Igor Hudić presented the organizational structure, capabilities, and key development projects currently underway at the University Clinical Center Tuzla, placing special emphasis on the role and significance of the Clinic for Anesthesiology and Resuscitation.
He also highlighted the successful introduction of regional anesthesia techniques for painless childbirth, which have been in practice at UKC Tuzla since 2017, made possible through collaboration with American anesthesiologists.
Among the topics discussed was the growing importance of anesthesia in internal medicine disciplines, particularly in complex and high-risk patient populations. It was announced that the upcoming lectures during the conference will focus on clinical assessment and the application of echocardiography techniques in anesthesiology, reflecting the latest advancements in perioperative care.
