World Hepatitis Day, observed annually on July 28, is a global initiative aimed at raising awareness, promoting prevention, and supporting individuals affected by viral hepatitis. On this occasion, the Clinic for Infectious Diseases at the University Clinical Center Tuzla is organizing a series of activities to increase public and professional understanding of hepatitis, its causes, methods of prevention, and available treatments.
As part of the program, an educational lecture for healthcare professionals will be held at the Educational Center of the Clinic for Infectious Diseases. The lecture, titled “Advantages of Diagnostics and the Importance of Prevention of Viral Hepatitis B and C,” will be delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jasminka Petrović. The event will take place on Monday, July 28, 2025, starting at 9:00 a.m., and is intended for medical professionals interested in improving their knowledge of hepatitis screening and prevention.
In addition to the professional program, citizens are invited to participate in free public health services organized in the Cabinet for Hepatitis and Prophylaxis of Blood-borne Infections. On the same day, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., free testing for hepatitis B and C will be offered, without the need for a medical referral. Visitors will also have access to individual consultations with healthcare staff, focusing on risk factors, routes of transmission, preventive measures, and the importance of early detection and modern treatment options.
