The University Clinical Center Tuzla (UKC Tuzla) today signed a contract with a selected distributor of radiotherapy equipment for the procurement of a second linear accelerator.
The contract covers the procurement, delivery, installation, and commissioning of the linear accelerator, with a delivery deadline of 150 days.
The value of the procurement is 4,654,000 KM, excluding VAT.
Prof. Dr. Šekib Umihanić, Director of UKC Tuzla, thanked the members of the public procurement commission for completing the legal implementation of the procedure. He emphasized that the new linear accelerator is fully compatible with the one previously purchased, which will provide oncology patients with quality radiotherapy treatment while also enabling a faster response and redirection of patients to avoid waiting lists when necessary.
“I am pleased to say that we have successfully completed the public procurement process for the linear accelerator, as this represents one of the most significant capital projects in our institution’s history. The process was conducted in full compliance with legal regulations , transparently and according to the highest professional standards , with the aim of ensuring the best value for money. By acquiring this sophisticated medical device, we will be able to offer our patients access to the most modern radiotherapy treatment available. The purchase of a second, new linear accelerator with these capabilities represents a major technological leap forward for our institution, placing us among the top regional oncology centers. I would like to thank the expert team who worked diligently on the technical specifications and bid evaluation, and I am proud to say that this investment raises the standard of healthcare we provide to a new level,” said Director Umihanić.
