On 30 May 2016, the University Clinical Center Tuzla marked the 1st annual GYN Clinic Day focused on the theme related to the history and development of gynecology service in the Tuzla Canton. On the occasion of the Day, Prof. Dr. Nisveta Alispahić promoted her manuscript under the title “Dr. Teodora Krajewska”. According to Prof. Alispahić, the first gynecology service in Tuzla was established 123 years ago with the arrival of Dr. Teodora Krajewska, who is considered to be the first gynecologist and founder of the first gynecological service in Tuzla . That is the reason that the Day of the Clinic was dedicated to her.
At the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Dženita Ljuca, head of the Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics gave a speech and pointed out that the Clinic is taking big steps to modernize gynecological care and to introduce new trends in the field of gynecology and perinatology.
” The Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics currently has 114 full- time employees and 28 doctors.
Last year, the admission department of the Clinic had cared for 12000 patients. We had assisted 3674 deliveries and about 2000 surgeries. As a result of professional cooperation with colleagues from the referral cancer care center- the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Clinical Hospital Center Rijeka, we have acquired skills to perform the highly sophisticated gynecologic laparoscopic surgeries.” said Prof. Dr. Ljuca.
A large number of guest and employees including our retiring employees Prof. Dr. Nisveta Alispahić and Prof. Dr. Jovan Petrov attended and shared in the celebration of the Day.
