On 6 October, 2016, Ass. Prof. Fuad Pašić, coordinator for the development of bariatric (weight loss) surgery at the University Clinical Center Tuzla held a lecture entitled” Bariatric surgery at Clinical Center Tuzla- yesterday, today and tomorrow”. In his lecture, Dr Pašić presented the most important segments in the development of surgical treatment of pathological obesity in our hospital.
He also presented a multidisciplinary team for obesity management working on the diagnosis of pathological obesity, evaluation of accompanying comorbidities, surgery and post-operative monitoring. Dr Pašić closed his lecture speaking about the idea of a personalized care in bariatric surgery both in Clinical Center Tuzla and in the wider medical community.
The next step of the University Clinical Center Tuzla in the development of bariatric laparoscopic surgery is to become a referral center for management of obesity.
