The two members of the transplant team from Central Manchester University Hospitals paid a visit to the University Clinical Center Tuzla. The aim of this visit was to exchange knowledge and experience in transplantation medicine.
On the occasion Dr. David van Dellen, consultant transplant surgeon from the Renal Transplant Unit at Manchester said that the University Clinical Center Tuzla has a respectable team of nephrologists and urologists who can meet all the criteria for kidney transplant, but there is a lack of technical support from the government relating to organ donation promotion and transplant program.
Dr David van Dellen’s and Dr Hussein Khambalia’s visit is organized in the framework of the existing cooperation between Clinical Center Tuzla and the International Society of Nephrology. During the stay, they gave a series of lectures on the topic of renal transplantation.
