The 25th Scientific Meeting of Pediatricians of the North East Bosnia and Herzegovina

The 25th Scientific Meeting of Pediatricians in the area of the North East Bosnia and Herzegovina was held on Saturday, 25 March, 2017,at the Congress Hall of the Hotel Tuzla. The organizers of this scientific event were the journal of University Clinical Center Tuzla “Pedijatrija Danas” and the University Clinical Centre Tuzla, Clinic for Children’s Diseases.The main theme of this one- day meeting was “Problems of adolescents with chronic diseases” which included a variety of topics in the field of pediatrics presented by the esteemed lecturers and experts from Zagreb, Belgrade and Tuzla.

In the first lecture Prof. Dr. Aida Mujkić, president of Croatian Pediatric Society from Zagreb talked about “Social problems of the adolescent with a chronic condition”.

On the theme” How to grow up with a chronic kidney disease ” talked Prof. Dr. Amira Peco- Antić from the University Children’s Hospital Tiršova, Belgrade.

“Congenital heart defects from childhood to adulthood- the problems of adults with congenital heart diseases” was a theme delivered by Prof. Dr. Ivan Malčić from the University Hospital Center Zagreb.

Prof. Dr. Osman Sinanović, from the University Clinical Center Tuzla, Clinic of Neurology presented a lecture entitled ” The problems of adolescents with neuromuscular diseases”.

Prof. Dr. Lidija Dokamović from the University Children’s Hospital Tiršova, Belgrade gave an interesting lecture on “Medical problems of adolescents and young adults suffering from chronic haematological and oncological diseases”.

The last lecture of the 25th scientific meeting of pediatricians was ” The problems of adolescent with endocrine diseases during the period of transition to adulthood” presented by Prof. Dr. Alma Toromanović from the University Clinical Center Tuzla, Clinic for Children’s Diseases.

The aim of these meetings is to bring together doctors regardless of their specialty but who are engaged in the treatment of chidren to collaborate and to exchange valuable knowledge and experience in their work, thus contributing to a better understanding of pediatric disorders”, said Academician Prof. Dr. Husref Tahirović, Chief Editor of the Journal “Pedijatrija Danas” and invited all attendees to 26th scientific meeting to be held in October, 2016.
