Health experts from the Clinic for Infectious Diseases, University Clinical Center Tuzla have issued snake warning. Springtime arrival and unusually warm days have brought snake out of hibernation and they start to emerge. For this reason the citizens are warned to be observant and conscious of the snakes in nature.

Prof. Dr Sead Ahmetagić said that there were no reporting of snakebites, and that Clinical Center Tuzla has sufficient supplies of anti- venom serum. During the last year, 12 patients visited our Clinic after being bitten by a snake, 4 of them were from Tuzla, he said.
The experts are warning citizens to dress in protective clothing and shoes when going out in the wilderness. In the event of a bite, remove the clothes from the site of bite, do not try to suck venom out of the wound, and rush to the nearest hospital or emergency medical facility.
