The Clinic for Neurology is consisted of 4 departments with 50 hospital beds and neurology outpatient polyclinic

HEALTH CARE SERVICES

  • Diagnosis and treatment of patients with nuromuscular diseases
  • Diagnosis and treatment of multiple sclerosis and other demyelinating diseases
  • Diagnosis and treatment of stroke (including thrombolytic therapy)

THE CLINIC STAFF

The Clinic for Neurology is a teaching clinic affiliated with Medical faculty including the Department of Health Studies, the Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation of the University of Tuzla, Nursing Schools from the Tuzla Canton.

Neurology outpatient polyclinic

An outpatient clinic

An outpatient clinic receives patients who need short- term monitoring and therapy in hospital setting

Department for cerebrovascular diseases

Chief of the Department: Prof. Dr. Mirjana Vidović

The department deals with management of patients in critical condition and it is equipped according to the latest medical and technical standards and 15 hospital beds. Patient with urgent neurology disorders such are acute stroke, coma of known and unknown etiology, epilepsy and serial epileptic seizures, neuromuscular crisis (myasthenia gravis, acute polyradiculoneuritis, acute myositis), other urgent conditions in neurology that require intensive medical care.

Department- stroke treatment unit

The department has eight hospital beds with central monitoring system, smart system for application of intravenous therapy and oxygen therapy.

Department of general neurology

Chief of the department: Ass. Prof. Larisa Kovačević, M.D.

The department deals with diagnosis and therapy in patients with epilepsy and other types of seizures, movement disorders, cerebrovascular diseases with moderate neurological deficit and more severe deficit in the subacute phase, headache and other neurological pain syndromes, standard EEG, video EEG monitoring, intraoperative EEG monitoring (during carotid endarterectomy).

Department for clinical neurophysiology

Health professionals from the department are experts in treating neuromuscular diseases, demyelinating diseases, rare neurological diseases, complex neurological disorders, treatment of focal dystonias with Botulinum toxin, and electrodiagnosis- electromyoneurography and evoked potentials.
