Polyclinic services and activities:

  • Coordination and promotion of voluntary blood donation in the Tuzla Canton area in cooperation with municipal’s Red Cross organizations and trade unions, citizen associations, schools and faculties.
  • Collection of blood, plasma and other blood components from voluntary unpaid donors and clinical utilization

The main services of department are immunohematological tests for outpatients and voluntary blood donors, tests of hemostasis and thrombosis for outpatients and inpatients, as well as monitoring of patients on oral anticoagulation therapies.

The department deals with the preparation, production and storage of blood products obtained from voluntary blood donors, which are used as replacement therapy and substitution drug in clinical transfusion medicine and practice.

  • the preparation and storage of cryoprecipitates
  • hematopoietic stem cell harvest apheresis for autologous and allogeneic transplantation

4. Department for the detection of bloodborne infectious diseases

  • The department offers laboratory testing and screening of donors for risk of transmissible bloodborne diseases ( Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, HIV and Syphilis).
  • Serological testing for viral markers of the pregnant women and patients
  • Education of residence and other health professional staff in transfusion medicine

5. Department for pre- transfusion tests, therapy and distribution of blood medicines

The department works 24 hours and offers:

Polyclinic for Transfusion Medicine has its own RGB Renovatio software and is partly networked with a Laboratory Information System (LIS) and administrative system of the University Clinical Center Tuzla.
