The purple color that is the symbol of World Prematurity Day stands for sensitivity and exceptionality.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span lang=\"hr-HR\">Yesterday, in celebration of the day, the University Clinical Center Tuzla released a dozens of purple balloons in the air.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span lang=\"hr-HR\">The aim of World Prematurity Day is to raise awareness of the challenges and burden of preterm birth globally. Premature birth is the leading cause of neonatal death in developed and developing countries. <\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span lang=\"hr-HR\">On that occasion Ass. Prof. Igor Hudi\u0107, head of the Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics said that current therapeutic options at the clinic, which are described in the scientific literature of medicine, have reached the maximum in preventing or reducing the risk of preterm birth. However, despite advances in perinatal medicine, preterm birth is one of the biggest challenges for healthcare providers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span lang=\"hr-HR\">President of the Association of Pediatricians in BiH, Prof. Dr. Fahrija Skoki\u0107 said that this year's World Prematurity Day is marked under the slogan &#8220;Act Now for Zero Separation&#8221;, and that is exactly what has been applied in practice, that mothers and children are not separated for more extended period. This can be done by supporting healthcare professionals who perform continuing healthcare education to support and to improve life quality of preterms and their families.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span lang=\"hr-HR\">The project under the title \u201cLet\u2019s stay together\u201d organized by the Association of Medical Students \u201cBoHeMSA\u201d was also part of marking the day. &#8220;Project aims to direct the awareness of the public and our fellow students to our smallest and bravest patients, a survivors of preterm birth.&#8221; pointed Edna Beganovi\u0107, a local officer for \u201cBoHeMSA\u201d .<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>According to the World Health Organization, every year 15 million babies are born preterm.
