The color purple, symbolizing this day, represents sensitivity and uniqueness.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span lang=\"en\">The goal of celebrating the International Prematurity Awareness Day is to draw public attention to the global problem of premature birth, which is the leading cause of infant death in developed and underdeveloped countries. <\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span lang=\"en\">The global theme for World Prematurity Day 2024 is \u201cSmall actions, big impact: First skin-to-skin contact for every baby everywhere.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span lang=\"en\">\u00a0World Prematurity Awareness Day was first celebrated on November 17, 2011 as a collaboration of the March of Dimes Foundation (USA), the European Foundation for the Care of Newborn Infants (EFCNI), which represents the parents of 20 European countries, the Little Big Souls International Foundation (Africa) and the National Premmie Foundation (NPF, Australia). <\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Clinic for Children's Diseases University Clinical Center Tuzla marked World Prematurity Day by releasing purple balloons into the sky.
