The University Clinical Center Tuzla (UKC Tuzla) and the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zenica have officially launched a new phase of academic cooperation by signing an agreement to implement the 12th semester of clinical training for sixth-year medical students. This collaboration further affirms UKC Tuzla\u2019s role as a regional leader in healthcare delivery, scientific advancement, and academic partnerships.<\/p>\n
As part of this initiative, students from the University of Zenica\u2019s Faculty of Medicine have already commenced their professional clinical practice at UKC Tuzla. They are organized into four groups, each focusing on a different clinical subject, and are actively engaged in hands-on learning under the supervision of experienced medical professionals.<\/p>\n
Prof. Dr. Ervin Alibegovi\u0107, Assistant Director for Teaching and Scientific Research at UKC Tuzla, highlighted the institution\u2019s broader academic mission:
\n\u201cUKC Tuzla, with more than 2,500 employees, stands as both a regional and national leader in academic collaboration. In addition to our partnership with the University of Zenica, we have established agreements with six other universities across Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as numerous international institutions. Speaking on behalf of the students from the University of Zenica, sixth-year medical student Hana Musli\u0107 expressed her appreciation for the opportunity:
\n\u201cIt is a great honor and privilege for us to complete our professional internship, as part of the 12th semester, at the University Clinical Center Tuzla, one of the most esteemed healthcare institutions in the country. I am confident that from this environment, and through the expertise of UKC Tuzla\u2019s dedicated staff, we will gain the knowledge and experience that will shape our future medical careers.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Director of the University Clinical Center Tuzla, Prof. Dr. \u0160ekib Umihani\u0107, underscored the institution\u2019s strategic commitment to strengthening its educational role:
\n\u201cSince assuming the position of Director, I have strongly advocated for UKC Tuzla to be an open and accessible institution for academic cooperation, both with partners within Bosnia and Herzegovina and internationally. I am especially pleased that students from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zenica have chosen UKC Tuzla for their final clinical internship, symbolically concluding this important phase of their medical education. In addition to delivering daily healthcare services, UKC Tuzla serves as a high-level teaching and scientific research center.
