The University Clinical Center Tuzla (UKC Tuzla) has signed new contracts for the procurement of essential medical and IT equipment, financed by the Government of Tuzla Canton.<\/p>\n
The agreements include the purchase of an extracorporeal circulation device and network and computer equipment, with a total value of approximately 2 million convertible marks (excluding VAT). Contracts were awarded to suppliers who met all requirements outlined in the public tender documentation.<\/p>\n
On behalf of UKC Tuzla, the contracts were signed by the director, Prof. Dr. \u0160ekib Umihani\u0107.<\/p>\n
The Minister of Health in the Government of Tuzla Canton, Dr. Du\u0161anka Be\u0107irovi\u0107, emphasized that the largest portion of this year\u2019s investments by the Tuzla Canton Government has already been realized. She expressed confidence that the same practice will continue in the coming period, with the aim of further improving conditions for both patients and employees at the University Clinical Center Tuzla.<\/p>\n
Assistant Director for Medical Affairs, Prof. Dr. Igor Hudi\u0107, highlighted that the newly procured device represents the most advanced generation of extracorporeal circulation technology, intended for the Clinic for Cardiovascular Surgery.
\n\u201cThis modern device will significantly reduce the number of postoperative complications following procedures on the heart and major blood vessels. At the same time, it will simplify and accelerate the work process for the surgical team,\u201d said Prof. Dr. Hudi\u0107.<\/p>\n
He further emphasized that another major benefit of today\u2019s contracts is the procurement of network and computer equipment.
\n\u201cFor more than ten years, network and computer systems had not been renewed, which was a serious problem that all of us working with patients faced on a daily basis. With this contract, UKC Tuzla will receive around 400 new computers, printers, and accompanying equipment essential for the daily work of our staff. Since the introduction of the hospital information system, patient data can only be processed, analyzed, and stored in digital form, so this investment is crucial.
