The ENT School Tuzla Association, in cooperation with the Clinic for Ear, Nose, Throat, and Head and Neck Surgery of the University Clinical Center Tuzla (UKC Tuzla) and the Department of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Tuzla, organized an expert workshop entitled “Nursing Procedures for Patients with Tracheostomy.”<\/p>\n
The workshop was held as part of ongoing efforts to provide continuous professional education for medical staff and to further enhance the quality of healthcare services.<\/p>\n
Head nurses and medical technicians from various clinics, all of whom regularly care for patients with tracheostomy tubes in their daily practice, attended the workshop. The program focused on expanding professional knowledge, improving nursing skills, and facilitating the exchange of experiences in the care of this specific group of patients.<\/p>\n
Expert lectures were delivered by nurse Enida Serhatli\u0107, who presented on the topic “Tracheostomy Care,” and by Amila Kra\u0161i\u0107, MSc. in nursing, Head Nurse of the Department of Phoniatrics, who spoke on “Nursing Procedures in Laryngectomized Patients.” The practical segment of the workshop was led by Velida Dedi\u0107, graduated nurse, Head Nurse of the Department of Head and Neck Tumors.<\/p>\n
The presentations highlighted contemporary approaches to patient care, offered practical guidelines, and addressed the challenges encountered in everyday clinical practice. The workshop generated considerable interest among participants and encouraged a productive professional discussion.<\/p>\n
The workshop was further distinguished by the presence of Acting Head of the Clinic, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Majda Muji\u0107, specialist in otorhinolaryngology and President of the ENT School Tuzla Association, as well as Prof. Dr. Fuad Brki\u0107, Head of the Audiology Department, specialist in otorhinolaryngology, subspecialist in audiology, and Full Professor of Otorhinolaryngology at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Tuzla.<\/p>\n
In their addresses, they highlighted the high quality of the presentations and emphasized the indispensable role of nurses and medical technicians in the healthcare system, particularly in the daily care of patients with tracheostomies. They commended the participants for their commitment to continuous professional development, noting that educational activities of this kind play a vital role in advancing healthcare standards and improving patient outcomes.<\/p>\n
Amela Suljendi\u0107, Msc.in nursing, Head Nurse of the Clinic for Ear, Nose, Throat and Head and Neck Surgery at the UKC Tuzla, emphasized that the primary goal of the workshop was to enhance practical knowledge and clinical skills in the care of patients with tracheostomies, thereby empowering healthcare professionals to provide safer and more effective care in everyday practice.<\/p>\n
She also underscored the broader significance of continuous education, particularly the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and the exchange of experiences among nurses and healthcare professionals from different clinics.
