The University Clinical Center Tuzla and the Association of Demobilized Veterans of Public Health Institutions in Tuzla Canton, as part of the institutional commemoration program of the genocide against Bosniaks, are organizing a professional symposium titled: “War Surgery During the Aggression on the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina 1992–1995”, which will be held on July 7, 2025, at Hotel Mellain in Tuzla, starting at 2:00 PM.
The aim of this gathering is to preserve historical memory, foster a culture of remembrance, and build intergenerational connections among doctors by sharing the valuable experiences of wartime surgeons.
The symposium will offer an opportunity to express deep respect for the heroism of medical personnel who, despite a lack of resources and extremely difficult conditions, selflessly saved human lives. This will be done through professional presentations and personal testimonies by wartime surgeons and organizers of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s medical service.
