The Coordinator of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Gökhan Umut, paid an official visit to the University Clinical Center Tuzla (UKC Tuzla) today.
Mr. Umut was welcomed by the Director of the University Clinical Center Tuzla, Prof. Dr. Šekib Umihanić. During the meeting, they discussed previously implemented joint projects and explored opportunities for further collaboration.
The University Clinical Center Tuzla and TİKA BiH have already established successful cooperation through the project “Emergency and Disaster Response Training Program (ADAMEP)”, which provided valuable professional training for medical technicians. The program focused on emergency management and response to natural disasters, as well as delivering support to the elderly and people with disabilities during crisis situations.
The aforementioned project also facilitated the exchange of valuable experiences and fostered inter- institutional connections and networking both within the country and abroad.
The Director of the University Clinical Center Tuzla, Prof. Dr. Šekib Umihanić, expressed his gratitude for the visit and emphasized that UKC Tuzla remains committed to continuing its cooperation with TİKA in efforts to strengthen the healthcare and protection system in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As a reminder, TİKA has implemented more than a thousand projects in Bosnia and Herzegovina, contributing to the country’s post- war reconstruction and the advancement of education, healthcare, and productivity across various sectors.
With a focus on development cooperation, TİKA operates in over 170 countries worldwide, including those where its program coordination offices are based.
