For this reason, in accordance with institutional plans and healthcare needs, we continuously develop specialization and subspecialization plans, which are submitted to the Institute of Public Health and the Ministry of Health of Tuzla Canton. After harmonization with the applicable norms and standards, the plans are forwarded to the Ministry of Health of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which makes the final decision,” stated Prof. Dr. Umihanić.
He added that during 2025, the University Clinical Center Tuzla announced 59 specializations across various fields of medicine.
“I would especially like to emphasize that we are satisfied because we have successfully addressed the staffing needs that emerged due to the retirement of a number of colleagues. For 2026, we have planned 58 new specializations. In the meantime, we have identified additional staffing requirements, and we will therefore seek to expand the proposed plan accordingly,” said Prof. Dr. Umihanić.
The vision of the University Clinical Center Tuzla remains focused on maintaining its position as a regional leader in healthcare excellence through continuous investment in staff education, scientific research, and the implementation of modern medical achievements and technologies.
