The Clinic for Skin Diseases of the University Clinical Center Tuzla has once again actively participated in the European campaign Euromelanoma 2026.
Euromelanoma is a public health campaign dedicated to the prevention, education, and early detection of skin cancer. As part of this year’s activities, the Clinic for Skin Diseases organized free dermatological examinations for citizens, with the primary goal of raising awareness about the importance of timely recognition and diagnosis of melanoma.
According to the Head of the Clinic for Skin Diseases, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Senada Resić, melanoma is one of the most aggressive forms of skin cancer, which makes early detection crucial for successful treatment outcomes.
“This year’s campaign is focused on the early recognition and detection not only of melanoma, but also of other malignant skin tumors at an early stage. Our goal is to encourage timely identification of suspicious skin changes and to educate individuals who, due to genetic predisposition or specific skin types, have a higher risk of developing skin cancer. Through education and direct communication with patients, we want to emphasize the importance of early diagnosis, regular self-examinations of the skin, and continuous monitoring of changes in moles,” emphasized Dr. Resić.
