New procedures in Pediatric Surgery

The pediatric surgeons at the Clinic for Children’s Diseases performed two the most complex pediatric surgical procedures during the year 2017. They have successfully carried out the Mitrofanoff and the MACE procedures in a 13- year- old boy with the neurogenic bladder and bowel.

In the second case they surgically treated and performed cliteroplasty in a girl suffering from congenital adrenal hyperplasia.
Also, for the first time a team of pediatric surgeons managed to make the diagnosis and definite surgical care in a 40- day- old infant with Hirschprung disease.

All this medical and surgical advancement in pediatric surgery was achieved owing to a multidisciplinary approach and a very good cooperation between pediatric surgeons and anesthesiologists, pediatricians and pediatric critical care specialists.
