The 50th Anniversary of the journal Acta Medica Salinana

By publishing special double issue, the official, peer- reviewed medical journal of the University Clinical Center Tuzla Acta Medica Saliniana 2022, Volume 52, marked its 50the anniversary in a modest way.

For 50 years, the journal Acta Medica Salinana has been continuously published news and research results from the world of medicine and other related scientific branches, in the print and online version, two times per year, and in the English language.

The journal is based in the University Clinical Center Tuzla but welcomes and publishes manuscripts and contributions from all over the world . Acta Medica is indexed in a well- known bibliographical databases Scopus, Index Copernicus Master Journal List, EBSCO, The Ulrich’s Periodical Directory, Directory of Open Access Journals, Open J-Gate, ProQest, and Google Scholar.

The journal has recently signed a Cooperation Agreement with the Bosnian-Herzegovinian American Academy of Arts and Sciences (BHAAAS), through which the parties acknowledge a shared commitment to achieving universal access to scientific literature and advancing and developing sciences in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Bosnian-Herzegovinian diaspora as well as promotion of Bosnian-Herzegovinian science, scientists, and science journals.

Owing to the dedicated work of former and current esteemed editors of the journal, among whom we proudly mention Prof. Dr. Lenka Kljajić- Rosenberg (1972-1973) , Prof. Dr. Dušan Tešanović (1973- 1079), Prof. Dr. Božina Radović (1980- 1999), Prof. Dr. Rajko Igić ( 1991-1992), Prof. Dr. Osman Sinanović (1992- 2008), Prof. Dr. Fuad Brkić (2008- 2012), Prof. Dr. Osman Sinanović ( 012- 2018), Assoc. Prof. Igor Hudić (2018- until today) the journal still fulfills its mission of sharing knowledge, ideas, information and innovation in science. Through this journal, all scientists, researchers, and especially young members of an academic community from Bosnia and Herzegovina have the opportunity to publish the results of their scientific research, which is one of the most important criteria for selection to higher academic positions.

In the last few years the most active members of the editorial team of Acta Medica Salinana have been Assoc. Prof Igor Hudić, editor- in chief, Prof. Dr. Nihad Mešanović, member of the publishing council, and Prof. Alma Muhedinović, technical editor.
